How bout some fitspiration!

This week has been so crazy. I woke up this morning to run 4 miles and my body was telling me
"Don't you dare get out of this chair, take off your robe, and finish your coffee"
So I stayed home....and got FITSPIRED!

I am a group fitness instructor. Teaching LITERALLY is my favorite part of my week!

While I am a little disappointed that I didn't run this morning, I am glad that I gave myself a little time to unwind my brain and relax. Since I got home from vacation I have not had one day that wasn't filled with "to do's" and "go go go!" I feel like my mind is reset and ready to keep trucking!

I am going to share the pics that really helped me this morning:

Photo: Live a life of substance, of purpose. Ask yourself; "am I focused on looking good or doing good?" A life lived from the inside out is a life well lived. Check in with your inner guidance, are you living a life you can be proud of?

Have a wonderful day....give some positive energy to the world....

Vacation or Train? BOTH!

As I mentioned in my previous post I recently took a trip to visit my family in Colorado. What a nice change it was to have the warm sun kissing my skin as opposed to the Minnesota frigid cold!
This was my view when I landed at the airport.

After seeing this I couldn't wait to run outside!

One of the first things I did was change into a tank top and flip flops :)

Then I got down to the important stuff. Personally, it is important for me to establish some sort of accountibility/reminder/motivation to continue my progress. I decided to post my training to do list on my mirror in my room. Every time I looked in the mirror I was reminded of my goals even though I was on vacation.

And then I got down to work.....

My dad has a bowflex so I made sure to include some strength training while I was home. I will be 100% honest with you, I didn't follow my training schedule perfectly but I did the very best that I could - and I know that it will pay off in the end!

I have always been one of those people who has intentions to
reach a goal but allow distractions to deter me.

At some point you have to decide what is important.

I am so proud of myself for sticking with my training.
I am on my way to running a half marathon!

Five Miles = Boom!

Since I am going to be taking a vacation during this training week I decided to tackle my hardest day FIRST - so I'm not tempted to skip it while I'm with my family. This meant running 5 miles!
Here I am just before I started my workout.

My workout stats for the day - pretty proud of these! My overall average pace is increasing. Like I mentioned in an earlier post, I am NOT running this to beat a certain time I truly just want to be able to finish.

This is my "I just ran 5 miles and I am super proud of myself!" face.

Do it today or regret it tomorrow!

Training Week #2

Week # 2 = not so great :( BUT THAT'S OK! Like my fitspiration says....

"It's just a matter of time. Persist." - Chalene Johnson

So that is exactly what I will do. I was able to get some strength training and some low impact cross training in this week. As far as actual running goes = not so much.

Today is the start of week three. I have many obstacles that I will be facing BUT
I am going to rock this week and train every single day that I am supposed to.

I will be traveling to Colorado to visit my family - it's much sunnier there! Yeah!
I am hoping to do some outdoor running.

Week 3 Goals (that I WILL smash):
Stay on track with my training schedule.
Track my eating.
No snacking on junk food at work.

End of Training Week #1

I would say that training week one went fairly well. I had two rest days instead of one but I did my best. On day 6 I took my dogs for a nice long walk in the freezing cold - I couldn't feel my face when I got back but at least I got in some exercise and so did my babies :) Today was my first "long run," I went 4 miles. WHOOP WHOOP!

Once again not fast, but I don't really care. Running is a mind game for me. I start to get bored, then I start staring at the treadmill thinking "how is that I have only gone 2.5 miles?!" I feel so great when I'm done and accomplished my goal for the day.

I also did an abdominal circuit again after running. I convinced my husband to join me. He makes me laugh so I can't do everything with correct form. How are you supposed to hold a plank when you're laughing?! Here we are after we finished.....

(He totally cheated in this picture)

On to training week #2.....
